Froads incorporate the magic of the land into their creations and medical practices. Find out more about how magic is used by Froads and how those who are able to control it use it.
Subspecies Affinity
Certain subspecies have a certain affinity for an element of magic. Elements are divided into five different areas. Each element has a designated deity that watches over it, and therefore each subspecies likes to claim one deity as their "patron." This doesn't mean that an aquatic Froad can't have nature magic abilities, but it's rather unlikely. Amphibians are thought to be the first Froads and every Froad following after evolved from them, so they do not have an elemental affinity.

Reptilian Froads embody the fire element.
Mammalian Froads embody the nature element.
Aquatic Froads embody the water element.
Avian Froads embody the air element.
Invertebrate Froads embody the earth element.
Magic Holders
Froads who have magical abilities are considered Holders and are a celestial trait. Other species on Amaris, similarly, can also use magic, though Froads appear to have the most strong connection to it. Froads usually can only have one type of magic, such as "telekinesis," "fire magic," or "snow abilities." Holders are defined by two classes:

Conduit Holders use magic to move already-existing objects, strengthen pre-existing bonds or channel existing energy into making a movement. Usually, Conduit Holders user their abilities for practical sciences or creations and are considered the weaker of the two types of Holders. Conduit Holders are more in-tune with their surroundings than Manifested Holders due to needing to utilize already-existing matter to use their abilities. Despite this, they make up 10% of the population, which is still a marginally small amount.

Manifested Holders use magic to create objects, items, or natural occurrences. These are considered to be more powerful Holders than Conduit Holders and, if not watched carefully, can be rather destructive. Most Manifested Holders can use their abilities for good. Manifested Holders only make up 5% of the Froad population and usually pursue occupations in research or jobs with practical applications of their abilities.
