Creation: Traits

Froads are defined by six different levels of rarity in addition to non-restricted traits. Be sure to also take a look at Froad subpsecies, which are listed in the Creation Subspecies page. Here is a color guide to help you with certain terms you'll find on this list...

Non-Restricted Traits

HEAD SHAPE . . . The shape of your Froad's head.

​

NECK SHAPE . . . The shape of your Froad's neck.

  • trait limitations: long neck (rare), oddly shaped limbs (unique)

​

VENOM GLANDS . . . The glands that hold a Froad's venom, with one on either side of their upper neck.

  • manifestations: Venom glands can be present or removed (scarred) but no venom glands is not allowed.

​

SCARS and AMPUTATIONS . . . Scars or amputations your Froad can obtain over their years. 

  • trait limitations: lack of limbs (mutation), eyeless (mutation)

  • manifestations: Having a limb (or eyes, ears, fingers, etc.) removed is fine, but being born without them is a trait.​

​

DISABILITIES . . . Any physical or mental disabilities are allowed and unregulated. Manifestations can be regulated.

  • trait limitations: eyeless (mutation)

  • manifestations: Removed eyes (blindness, scars) is allowed but having two eyes removed is the eyeless mutation.

​

PROSTHETIC LIMBS . . . Non or minimally functioning prosthetics as replacements for missing limbs. Similar to real-life prosthetics, prosthetics are not able to have a full range of motion or ability, as that would be a material body part trait.

  • manifestations: Wooden, clay, or other materials resembling a Froad's missing limbs with limited abilities.

ARTISTIC REPRESENTATION OF PUPILS . . . Some art styles don't have pupils. Froads can be represented with or without pupils while keeping in mind other pupil or eye trait types. This does not apply to irises, these need to be drawn at all times.

COMMON SKIN VARIATIONS . . . Including smooth, scaly, warty, leathery or bumpy skin.

  • manifestations: Froads can have multiple skin variations.

COMMON EYE VARIATIONS . . . Including frog, barbell, round, or slit pupils.

  • ​manifestations: All Froad eyes must have a white sclera, an iris and a pupil.

COMMON TONGUE VARIATIONS . . . Including standard, forked, rounded forked and rounded tongues.​​

COMMON HORN VARIATIONS . . . Including standard, long pointy, bull, cassowary, axe, slit, spike, and comb horns.

COMMON HORN TEXTURE VARIATIONS . . . Including smooth, dragon, and ridged horn textures.

CLAWS . . . Regular sized claws on hands and/or feet. Commonly seen on reptilians, mammalians and avians.

PLATES . . . Any size or shape protective keratin formations on your Froad's skin.

  • ​manifestations: Plates can be on any external part of a Froad.

  • subspecies: This trait is common for the reptilian (common) and invertebrate (unique) subspecies.

SPIKES . . . Small or medium-sized growths adorning a Froad's skin. 

  • trait limitations: spines (rare)

  • ​manifestations: Can be placed anywhere, but most common areas are along the spine and tail.

  • subspecies: This trait is common for the reptilian (common) subspecies.

WEBBING . . . Skin between a Froad's digits or minimal webbing under arms or between legs.​​

  • subspecies: This trait is common for the amphibian (common) and aquatic (uncommon) subspecies.

BASIC HEIGHT . . . Froads between the heights of 4'0 (120cm) and 6'0 (180cm).​​​

Uncommon Traits

FUR and HAIR . . . Fur or hair in any form. Can be present alongside other skin types.

  • subspecies: This trait is common for the mammalian (uncommon) subspecies.

UNCOMMON HAND VARIATIONS . . . Including primate hands or paws.​

UNCOMMON TONGUE VARIATIONS . . . Including snake or butterfly tongues.​​

​

UNCOMMON HORN VARIATIONS . . . Including hook, crooked, split, wave, scythe, goat, pronghorn, dilo and sharp horns.

​

CREST . . . Includes any presentable crest along the back of the head and neck, behind the horns.

  • manifestations: Any variation of crested gecko crests, dinosaur crests, or more. Must point backwards.

HOOD . . . Any presentation of a hood around the area of the Froad's head or neck.​​​​

  • trait limitations: Any other traits necessary to achieve any odd type of hood. See guide and check with mods.

  • manifestations: Can be similar to a hoodie, cobra hood, or other hoods. Can also be paired with other traits to be produce a wider variety of hoods. (Spikes, overgrown teeth for adding teeth on the hood, and more.)

FRILLS . . . Any presentation of frills or excess skin around the head or face.

  • ​manifestations: Frills can resemble frilled-neck-lizards or frills such as an axolotl.

FINS . . . Any fins on any part of a Froad's body, resembling aquatic fins.​

  • ​manifestations: Fins can resemble fish, sharks, dolphins, or any aquatic animal, and can be placed anywhere. Additionally, similar to real-life fish and jellyfish, fins can be translucent without requiring other traits.

  • subspecies: This trait is common for the aquatic (uncommon) subspecies.

HEAT PITS . . . Pits along a Froad's nose above their upper lip, resembling a snake's heat pits.​

  • ​manifestations: Can have any number of pits as long as they are small and not oddly shaped (stars, hearts, etc).

EARS . . . External ears rather than the default internal ears. 

  • trait limitations: multiple ears (mutation)

  • ​manifestations: Ears can be any size, length, or shape. 

  • subspecies: This trait is common for the mammalian (uncommon) subspecies.

ANTENNAE . . . Structures on a Froad's head or face resembling an insect's antennae.​​

  • ​manifestations: Can be soft and fleshy or hard and segmented similar to a bug. No limitations on size or presentation.

  • subspecies: This trait is common for the invertebrate (unique) subspecies.

GILLS . . . Gills allowing Froads to breathe underwater and manifesting in a variety of different ways and places.​​​

  • ​manifestations: Fish-like or axolotl-like gills can be placed on the neck, chest, ribs, abdomen, etc. and can be shaped.

  • subspecies: This trait is common for the aquatic (uncommon) subspecies.

OVERGROWN TEETH . . . Zig-zagged, chompy teeth with no anatomical reference, similar to cartoony shark teeth.​​​​

  • manifestations: Can have a snaggle-tooth or allows teeth to poke out a Froad's mouth.

MINOR DWARFISM and GIGANTISM . . . Froads between the heights of 3'0 (90cm) and 4'0 (120cm) or 6'0 (180cm) and 10'0 (300cm).​​​

Rare Traits

RARE HORN VARIATIONS . . . Including needle, dagger, beetle, stub, ram, curl, deer, crescent, and spiral horns.

RARE HORN TEXTURE VARIATIONS . . . Including spiky horn texture.

​

NOSE HORN . . . A horn on the very tip of your Froad's snoot.

  • manifestations: Can be long and shaped or short and stubby. No additional traits needed for varying manifestations.

HETEROCHROMIA . . . Froads with two or more colors in one part of the eye or mismatched eyes.

COLORED SCLERA . . . Froads with a sclera color other than white or off-white.

RARE TAIL VARIATIONS . . . Including gecko, aquatic, feathered, or dinosaur tails.

  • trait limitations: short tail (rare), other tail variations (varying)

  • ​manifestations: Feathered tails can be shorter without having the short tail trait. Dinosaur tails are specifically meant to resemble actual dinosaur tails and are stiffer and thicker. (Ankylosaurs, stegosaurus, etc...)

  • subspecies: The feathered tail trait is common for the avian (rare) subspecies. The aquatic tail trait is common for the aquatic (uncommon) subspecies.

UNUSUAL TAIL TIP . . . Any non-tapered tail tip for a Froad.

  • manifestations: Can include shapes (hearts, stars, etc...), rattlesnake tips, devil/spade tips, or more.

SHORT and LONG TRAITS . . . Includes short tail, short limbs and long tail, long limbs, long body.​​

  • trait limitations: oddly shaped limbs (unique)

  • manifestations: A Froad's tail is the length of their body. Less than or longer requires a trait! Others are proportionate.

SMALL WINGS . . . Wings unable of sustaining flight but still able to move and operate as wings.​​

IRIDESCENCE . . . The ability to shift colors in certain types of light.​

GLITTER . . . The ability for fur to shimmer or sparkle in certain types of light.​

  • trait limitations: material body part (mutation), bioluminescence (unique)

  • ​manifestations: These traits do not allow your Froad the ability to glow in the dark! Only sparkle in light.

BIRD FEET . . . Any type of bird feet (ostrich, hawk, finch, or more) on your Froad.​​

  • subspecies: This trait is common for the avian (rare) subspecies.

HOOVES . . . Any type of hooves (horse, deer, goat, moose, etc...) on your Froad.​​​

​

DINO TRAITS . . . Any type of dinosaur-inspired trait, including spinosaurus sails, ankylosaurs armor, dino feet, or more.​

​

FEATHERS . . . Any size or shape feathers located anywhere on a Froad.

  • trait limitations: crest (uncommon), feathered tail (rare), non-flyable wings (rare), flyable wings (unique)

  • subspecies: This trait is common for the avian (rare) subspecies.

BEAK . . . A beak-like snoot instead of a regular reptilian one. Beaks should still have a "v" tip.​

  • ​manifestations: Beaks can be any size or length (within reason). Beaks can also have additional teeth traits as add-ons.

TUSKS . . . Protruding teeth that extend past a Froad's jaw or nose.​​

  • manifestations: Can be mammoth tusks, walrus tusks, oni tusks, or any other variations. Not limited by number.

UNUSUAL TEETH . . . Any other types of teeth not defined by existing traits. Mostly involves animal-like teeth.​​

UNUSUAL TONGUE . . . Extremely long tongues (unable to stay in a Froad's mouth) or other tongues not defined by traits.​​

  • trait limitations: any other tongue types (varying rarity)

  • manifestations: Can be flat and canine-like, short and human-like, or extremely long (think Greninja-type long).

SPINES . . . Long, thinner, dull or sharp spines resembling extremely long spikes or quills.

  • trait limitations: spikes (common)

​

TENTACLES . . . Any longer fins or structures resembling jellyfish, squid, octopus, or other tentacles.

  • trait limitations: unique tail variations (unique)

  • manifestations: Can be paired with other traits (like hoods (uc)) to create similar structures.

WHISKERS . . . Any whisker-like structures around the snoot of a Froad.

  • manifestations: Can resemble finer, thinner whiskers or resemble thicker, longer whiskers.

POUCH . . . A structure on the belly of a Froad capable of stretching to hold various things.

  • manifestations: Resembles a marsupial. Can only be placed on the belly or chest of a Froad.

​

EXTREME DWARFISM and GIGANTISM . . . Froads between the heights of 0'5 (12cm) and 3'0 (90cm) or 10'0 (300cm) and 15'0 (460cm).​​​

Unique Traits

UNIQUE HORN VARIATIONS . . . Including unicorn, brow, buffalo, butterfly, bomb, icebreaker, thorn rhino & snail horns.

  • trait limitations: mismatched horns (mutation), overgrown horns (mutation), misshapen horns (mutation)

  • ​manifestations: Can be any shape as long as it is one horn in the middle of a Froad's head.

UNIQUE TAIL VARIATIONS . . . Including any invertebrate and unusually shaped tails (grubs, wasps, tentacle, scorpions, centipedes, round, rectangle, etc...)

  • trait limitations: other tail variations (varying)

  • subspecies: This trait is common for the invertebrate (unique) subspecies.

ARMORED/SEGMENTED BODY . . . Various types of plates and body armor giving an invertebrate appearance.

  • subspecies: This trait is common for the invertebrate (unique) subspecies. 

  • manifestations: Segments usually affect limbs and digits while plating/armor can affect any part of the body.

​

BEETLE CREST . . . A crest curling frontwards towards the snoot of a Froad, similar to a rhinoceros beetle.

  • manifestations: Forms at the top of froad's head, usually behind regular horns.

 

MANDIBLES and PINCERS . . . Jaw-like structures on either side of a Froad's mouth or claw-like pincers on arms.​

  • ​manifestations: Can be any size within reason. Mandibles and pinchers can resemble any insect or crustacean.

  • subspecies: This trait is common for the invertebrate (unique) subspecies.

BIOLUMINESCENCE . . . Allowing any part (or parts) of a Froad to glow in the dark.​

  • trait limitations: material body part (mutation), iridescence and glitter (rare), glowing eyes (mutation)

  • ​manifestations: Can apply to any markings or body parts except for eyes, but can include mouth, venom pocket, or more.

LARGE WINGS . . . Wings able of sustaining flight and big enough to support a Froad for movement in the air.​​

  • trait limitations: non-flyable wings (rare), multiple wings (mutation)

SHELLS . . . Structures on a Froad's back similar to a snail or turtle shell. However, Froads cannot pull back into their shells.​

  • ​manifestations: Can be plated or smooth but must be only on a Froad's back.

ODDLY SHAPED LIMBS . . . Differences in a Froad's limb structure that create disproportionate shaped limbs.​

  • trait limitations: short and long traits (rare), lack of limbs (mutation)

  • ​manifestations: Can include different feet/hand shapes, missing digits, large hands/feet, or other odd occurrences.

EXTRAORDINARY HEIGHT . . . Froads between the heights of 15'0 (460cm) and 30'0 (900cm).​​​

mutations

Mutation Traits

Mutation traits are available in Batra's Mutation Shop (click) using Shards. Froads can have an unlimited amount of mutations.

​

NO HORNS . . . Allows a Froad to have no horns.​​

​

MISMATCHED HORNS, WINGS, or LIMBS . . . Parts of a Froad that are noticeably different than their counterpart.

  • trait limitations: short and long traits (rare), oddly shaped limbs (unique)

  • manifestations: Does not include removed or missing limbs or broken horns.

 

MULTI-HORN . . . Allows for a Froad's main horns (any style) plus a unicorn horn or another pair of horns (any style).

 

CONNECTED HORNS . . . Horns that are connected together on a Froad's head. ​

  • trait limitations: mismatched horns (mutation), overgrown horns (mutation)

  • ​manifestations: Can have any presentation as long as horns are connected in some way.

​

OVERGROWN HORNS . . . Unusually large horns. Usually, horns that are bigger than a Froad's own head and neck.​

 

MISSHAPEN HORNS . . . Horns that either don't fit into an existing horn trait or resemble a trait but are slightly off.​

  • ​manifestations: Includes horns that point out instead of pointing forwards/backwards.

ODD HORN TEXTURE . . . Includes anything other than textures already listed: goopy, crystal, other horn textures.​

  • trait limitations: material body part (mutation)

  • ​manifestations: Can have any presentation as long as the horns are not made of a different material other than horn.

​

LACK OF LIMBS . . . When a Froad is born without limbs, including a tail, arm, leg, etc...​

  • trait limitations: oddly shaped limbs (unique)

  • ​manifestations: This trait is for Froads born without limbs. Amputated limbs are not regulated and do not need a trait.

​

NAGA / MERMAID . . . A snake-like or mermaid-like body, replacing a Froad's lower body.​​

  • ​manifestations: Can be any length (within reason). Mermaid requires the aquatic tail trait (rare).

​

CENTAUR . . . A centaur like body, lower body is quadrupedal while the torso stays normal.​​

  • trait limitations: multiple limbs (if the lower body has more than 4 legs), different limb traits (e.g.: paws, bird feet, dino feet)

  • ​manifestations: Can resemble any animal species, including insects or chimeras.

​

COLORED TEETH and BONES . . . Colored teeth and colored bones. ​​

  • manifestations: Includes teeth and bones of any other color other than off-white.

MULTIPLE BODY PARTS . . . Including more than usual amounts of limbs like ears, wings, tails, and arms.​

​

MISSHAPEN or MISPLACED BODY PARTS . . . Including things like: split jaws, head tails, hand mouths and other. ​

  • trait limitations: multiple body parts (mutation)

  • ​manifestations: Body parts placed anywhere any other than their usual spot or shaped in an unusual way.

​

MULTIPLE EYES, EYELESS, and CYCLOPS . . . Any presentation of multiple eyes, eyeless, or one-eyed Froads.​

  • trait limitations: misplaced eyes (mutation)

  • ​manifestations: Froads can have eyes removed without having this trait. Being born without them requires the trait.

​

MISPLACED or MISMATCHED EYES . . . Eyes placed anywhere other than the face of a Froad or different styles of eyes.​

  • trait limitations: multiple eyes (mutation), heterochromia (rare)

  • ​manifestations: Any eyes placed elsewhere than the face also requires multiple eyes. 

​

MULTIPLE / SHAPED PUPIL or IRIS . . . Any pupil not falling under other eye traits, usually odd shapes such as stars, hearts, x's, or more. Multiple pupils/irises can be shaped without using two traits.​

​

NO PUPIL or IRIS . . . Complete lack of pupil or lack of iris in eyes. Drawing pupils is optional but some trait combinations wouldn't be possible without this trait.​

​

GLOWING EYES . . . Allows a Froad's eyes (or parts of an eye) to glow.​

  • trait limitations: bioluminescence (unique), blank eyes (mutation)

BLANK EYES . . . Froads with only one color for their entire eye, without a discernable sclera, iris, or pupil.​

​

CHAMELEON EYES . . . Just chameleon type eyes.

​

DIFFERENTLY SHAPED VENOM GLANDS. . . Any other shaped venom pockets other than smooth.​

​

LIQUIDS REPLACING VENOM . . . Other liquids replacing venom, which becomes apparent externally or with the transparent body part trait (applied to the venom pocket).​

  • trait limitations: transparent parts (mutation), iridescence/glitter (rare)

  • ​manifestations: Examples of other liquids can include: milk, soda, water, glue, or more.

​

TRANSPARENT BODY PART . . . See-through parts of a Froad's body, able to see straight through.​​

  • trait limitations: material body part (mutation), items inside body (mutation)

  • ​manifestations: Can be applied to one body part (or stackable for multiple parts)... Venom pocket, body, arms, etc.

​

ITEMS/LIQUIDS INSIDE BODY . . . Not including bones and flesh, but non-bodily-materials.​​

  • trait limitations: material body part (mutation), plant growth (celestial)

  • ​manifestations: Things like candy, rocks, sand, or other non-body parts can be within the transparent parts.

​

MATERIAL BODY PARTS . . . Any non-flesh-and-bone body part.​

  • trait limitations: material body (celestial), elemental body parts (celestial), iridescence/glitter (rare), bioluminescence (unique).

  • ​manifestations: Examples of these structures can include gemstones, metal, or other solid/semi-solid, non-living (non-plant) based materials. Certain materials can grant transparency.

​

MULTICOLORED VENOM . . . Including multicolored venom, which is usually supposed to be single-colored.​

  • trait limitations: iridescence (rare), liquids replacing venom (mutation)

​

MULTICOLORED FLESH . . . Including multicolored flesh, which is usually supposed to be single-colored​

Celestial Traits

Celestial traits are currently only available through moderator adoptables and customs.

 

HIVEMIND . . . Froads operating as one mind and having multiple different manifestations (see guide).​

UNLIMITED TAIL LENGTH . . . Tails that seemingly go on forever!

​

MATERIAL BODY . . . Froads with bodies made out of any solid/semi-solid non-body material, like wood, plastic, metal, glass, slime, or other.

ELEMENTAL BODY/BODY PARTS . . . Froads with bodies made out of any non-solid material like fire, liquid, magic, gas, and other.

SCREEN FACE. . . A material face able to express emotions through images.

  • trait limitations: mouthless (mutation)
     

SENTIENT BODY PARTS. . . ​Any living creature replacing a tail, arms, legs, hair, tentacles. etc.

  • manifestations: Living/emotive tails with mouths/eyes, medusa-like snake hair, or any other presentation of living creaturs.

FLOATING or DETACHABLE BODY PARTS. . . Unusually detached limbs or body parts.

  • manifestations: Body parts floating around the body but staying mostly in the same place they would normally be or parts that can detach/re-attach itself at will. Can affect any body part/s.

 

SINGLE or MULTIPLE VENOM GLANDS. . . An unusual count of venom glands.

  • trait limitations: differently shaped venom glands (mutation)

  • ​manifestations: One or more than two venom glands, cannot be misplaced and must be visible from both sides of the neck.

PLANT GROWTH . . . Plants growing on a Froad's skin or replacing a Froad's limbs. Replacing limbs requires additional traits.​

  • trait limitations: bioluminescence (unique), material body part (mutation)

  • ​manifestations: Plants growing in place of limbs but with no movement (similar to an actual plant) requires no additions.

​

MAGIC ABILITIES . . . Any kind of magic abilities fall under this area, including elemental control, levitation, or more.

  • trait limitations: Only one magic ability is permitted per available celestial trait. For example, a Froad cannot have both mind-reading and immortality magic. (Simplifying magic into categories where multiple kinds of abilities can fall under the same category can be considered a single type of magic.) This does not apply to adopts.

  • ​manifestations: Read about the different types of magic in the Magic tab (click).

MAGIC ITEM. . . Any kind of magical object that can be manipulated by the froad. Can add multiple items if they're of the same category (e.g.: fork and knife, book and pen).

  • trait limitations: Does not grant magic abilities (celestial) but can be used to cast minor spells.

  • ​manifestations: Items can levitate/float and have magic properties.

​

MORPHING . . . Temporary body shapeshifting, usually with a timer, and involving minimal physical changes in morphs.​

  • trait limitations: morphed-to traits (varying rarity), hivemind (celestial)

  • ​manifestations: : Includes size shifting, ability to stretch body parts, and being minimally able to hide smaller features of a body (such as spikes.) Must have all traits present in order to successfully morph. (For example: A Froad cannot stretch their body unless they have the long body trait.)

​

FORM CHANGE . . . Unlimited body shapeshifting, including extreme physical changes in morphs, including subspecies.

  • trait limitations: morphed-to traits (varying rarity), hivemind

  • ​manifestations: Includes size shifting, ability to stretch/shrink body parts, subspecies shifting, hiding more massive features and any other changes that can be made when moving forms. Must have all traits present in order to successfully change forms. (For example: A Froad cannot hide their legs if they do not have the serpent body trait.)

COLOSSAL HEIGHT . . . Froads with heights above 100'0 (3,000cm).​​​

Legacy and Event Traits

These traits are either retired or event-specific traits that can no longer be bought. Some members can have legacy traits in their inventories. Some legacy traits cannot be recreated, but some can be mimicked with other-rarity traits (listed as "alternative" below). VINTAGE EYES . . . Froads with no separate iris and sclera. Only a single-color eye with a pupil.​​

MOTH WINGS . . .  Shimmering moth wings that once belonged to an extinct moth species from Amaris. Depicted on items such as the Moth Amulet

FERN GROWTH . . .  Unusual plant growth on froad's body

​

WIZARD SNAIL PET . . .  A unique pet you managed to befried.
These curious beings can somehow channel magic and cast very simple spells like creating sparks. Some can move small objects telepathically or using wind.
They are hard to train and probably won't listen to you but will stick around if you feed them. They're fueled by mischief and mischief only.
Wizard Snails are required to be shown on the masterlist unlike other Amaris pet species.

Forbidden Traits

These traits are not and have never been allowed on Froads. They are unable to be used.

 

NO VENOM GLANDS. . . Froads cannot exist without venom glands. They can be surgically removed but it is not allowed to not have them. If removed the froad should have a scar that resemble the shape of a venom gland.​​​
